About TheArtillery
TheArtillery was conceived as result of a collaboration between producer/engineer duo Marloes Polman and Robert Nabbe. We both shared a passion for the relationship between music, technology and every aspect in between which we developed and molded into a professional skill during our time at the Utrecht School of Arts, faculty Art, Media & technolgy in The Netherlands; we both received a Bachelors degree in Composition & Music Technology with honors. In addition, we both as well received a Masters degree in Sound & Music Technology through the Open University of England; our research studies included topics such as advanced acoustics and physics behind tuning drums.
Being tired of working in different studios and locations, and not having a 'home-base' when it comes to studio space, we started exploring our options. After careful planning and extensive research since late 2009, we started with the construction in June of 2010 of what would eventually be TheArtillery; the build was finished in August of 2010. Besides working as a sound engineer in our studio, Marloes was asked to fill a Junior Professor position in September of 2010 at the Utrecht School Of Arts teaching Production Technology classes; Robert gained valueable experience in live music, mixing both FOH as well as doing dedicated monitor mixes.
Since we're both musicians, we know how to keep the energy high and help you stay motivated during the recording process. That's how we keep it relaxing and fun!
Since August of 2010 we have been working on an ambitious project by the name of '
We are the troops', which involve several (punk-/hardcore-/metal-) We have set-up a blog to document this project and you can find it here:

In April of 2012 we decided to relocate to Austin, TX ('
The live music capitol of the world') in the United States to persue and broaden ourr careers as sound engineers. We are hoping to start (re-)contruction on a new studio space in 2012. We hope to welcome you soon in our new studio! For now, we will be recording in select studios, depending on budget.
